Why two supplements, both with vitamin D?

Together, the duo provides you with 50µg (2,000 IU) of vitamin D3 a day – half the 100µg (4,000 IU) safe daily maximum – to focus on supporting long-term bone health while providing broad nutritional support during menopause.

Advanced Multi+ is a complete daily foundation, supplying 23 nutrients that a daily diet doesn't always reach. Its branded ingredients are supported by 44 human clinical studies, and it’s approved by experts at the Good Housekeeping Institute, with 58% of users reported improved energy.

Super Vitamin D+ adds higher-strength vitamin D supported by vitamin K2 to help direct calcium to your bones – two of the most important nutrients during and after menopause. MenaQ7® vitamin K2 is backed by 22 human clinical studies, and improves vitamin K2 status by 2.3x more than standard vitamin K supplements.

Bone health: the priority that changes at menopause

Bone is living tissue, continuously broken down and rebuilt. The balance between the two changes with age, and for women the change is most pronounced around and after menopause. Reduced oestrogen has been linked to low bone density, which in turn can increase the risk of bone fracture.

Nutrition and exercise are powerful levers you can use to influence your bone health at this time. The duo includes key nutrients to support healthy bones, muscles and joints: vitamin D, magnesium, zinc, vitamin C, and MenaQ7® vitamin K2, clinically shown to support bone density in postmenopausal women (Knapen et al., Osteoporos Int., 2013). Measuring spine density is the primary way to diagnose conditions like osteopenia and osteoporosis in the UK.

Energy, focus and everyday wellbeing

During menopause, changes in sleep, mood and energy can leave you feeling more tired and less focused. Good nutrition can help support the systems that help you feel more like yourself.

Advanced Multi+ provides nine nutrients that contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, while also supporting normal psychological function and the nervous system.

It also contains 14mg Affron® saffron, shown in a human clinical study to improve sleep quality in just four weeks, with 2.9x greater improvement than placebo (Lopresti et al., 2021).

The forms matter as much as the dose. That’s why we include high-quality forms supported by human research, chosen for how well the body can absorb and use them. Advanced Multi+ includes Quatrefolic® active folate, Ubiqsome® CoQ10, Aquamin® magnesium and PureSea® iodine, alongside carefully selected forms of iron, zinc and vitamin B12.

Hormonal activity

Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity. Advanced Multi+ provides 2.8mg – 200% of the daily reference intake.

Thyroid function

Iodine from PureSea® seaweed contributes to the normal production of thyroid hormones and normal thyroid function. So does selenium.

Hair, skin and nails

Biotin contributes to the maintenance of normal hair and skin, zinc to normal hair, skin and nails, selenium to nails.

“We designed this duo around the nutrition that becomes priority during and after menopause: a strong foundation of essential nutrients, with additional vitamin D and K2 to support long-term bone health.”

Ingredient highlights

Vitamin D3 – for bones, muscles and immunity

Vitamin D is the nutrient we’re most often short of in the UK – we make it from sunlight on skin, which we don’t get enough of from October to March. Vitamin D contributes to the normal absorption and use of calcium and phosphorus, to healthy bones, teeth and muscle function, and to the normal function of the immune system. Across the two products you get 50µg (2,000 IU) a day, half the 100µg daily maximum considered safe for long-term use. Both use algal D3, so it is suitable for vegans, which most D3 is not.

MenaQ7® vitamin K2 – clinically studied bone support

Vitamin D helps you absorb calcium, but vitamin K2 helps direct it to your bones. We use MenaQ7®, the most clinically researched natural MK-7 form of vitamin K2, supported by 22 clinical studies involving more than 2,000 participants.

In a three-year human study, 180µg of MenaQ7® K2 daily was shown to support spine bone density in post-menopausal women (Knapen et al., Osteoporos Int, 2013), a crucial marker for diagnosing conditions such as osteopenia and osteoporosis. Across the Menopause Support Duo, you receive 280µg of K2 a day.

Please note: vitamin K can interact with anticoagulant (blood-thinning) medication, so do not take this duo if you are on one, except on your doctor's advice.

Vitamin B6 – regulation of hormonal activity

Vitamin B6 contributes to the regulation of hormonal activity. It also contributes to normal psychological function, to normal homocysteine metabolism, to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue, and to the normal functioning of the nervous system. Advanced Multi+ provides 2.8mg – 200% of the daily reference intake – as pyridoxal-5-phosphate, the active form.

Aquamin® magnesium – bones, muscles and psychological function

Magnesium supports healthy bones and teeth, muscle function, psychological function, the nervous system, energy-yielding metabolism, and contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.

Aquamin® Magnesium is a naturally mineralised form, not a synthetic mineral salt, which is sustainably harvested from red algae in the clean waters of the Irish Sea. Unlike standard magnesium salts, it also contains 72 trace minerals, and is easy for your body to absorb.

Feel much more energetic

Have been taking these multi vitamins for a few weeks and feel much more energetic

Improved sense of wellbeing

I started taking this some months ago and found I had an improved sense of wellbeing within a few days. Last month I decided to skip a month and felt the old anxiety creeping in. I reordered straight away but had to wait a while due to postage time. Once I started the supplement again I felt much calmer within a few days. The supplement definitely has a positive effect.

My vertigo has gone

I suffered from vertigo and saw a video by a doctor that explained that vitamin K2 would help. I started taking Super Vitamin D+ and now my vertigo has gone. It worked!

FAQs

When will I feel the benefits?

Filling the gaps

The first month is about correcting any nutrient shortfalls rather than feeling transformed. Your body starts drawing on the 23 nutrients in Advanced Multi+, and vitamin D levels begin to build. This is where the gaps common in UK diets, particularly vitamin D, magnesium, iodine and folate, start to close. Some people may notice small changes in energy or sleep in the first few weeks. However, many will notice nothing, and that’s normal. Bone health works on a much longer timescale than anything you can feel.

Building momentum

Levels at higher strength

By the second month you are into a steady state. If you're starting from a low level of vitamin D, it can take weeks or months to achieve a healthy level, so you may be starting to see the full benefit of the high-strength pairing by now or still building toward it. If tiredness was part of why you started, this is the more realistic window to judge it – the B vitamins, magnesium, iron and vitamin C contributing to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue work through everyday metabolism, not overnight.

When will I feel the benefits?

Built for the long term

At three months the routine is doing what it was designed for: a consistent daily foundation, with the vitamin D and K2 maintained at a level that supports the maintenance of normal bones over the long term. This is the timescale that matters for bone health – not weeks, but years of consistency. If you have your vitamin D levels checked, three months of daily supplementation is a reasonable point to see the difference reflected in a blood test.
