What is Astaxanthin+?
Astaxanthin is one of nature's most powerful antioxidants, 6,000 times stronger than vitamin C. Known as ‘the king of carotenoids’, it’s able to cross the blood-retina and blood-brain barriers, where its powerful antioxidant actions reduce the effects of free radicals, protecting against cell damage.
Found in fresh water microalgae, astaxanthin becomes a natural part of the food chain as the algae are eaten by aquatic animals such as lobster, salmon, trout and crabs. Its deep red pigment is what gives them all their pink colouring.
Our bodies can't produce astaxanthin on their own, so we have to get it through our diet and supplements. Astaxanthin+ contains natural extract from a type of algae called Haematococcus pluvialis, and is totally vegan.
