The ‘Turmeric Kid’ tackles 20th charity Swimathon for Marie Curie

Our friend Bill Moore, an 80-year-old turmeric lover, has just taken part in his 20th Swimathon on behalf of Marie Curie.

Bill is an extraordinary character, not just for his seven decades challenging himself in the swimming pool, but also because of his generous nature. This year he raised more than £600 for Marie Curie, to support the charity’s work providing help and support to people with terminal illnesses and their families.

This means that over the past 20 years, he has raised £10,000 by swimming 2,000 lengths – that’s an astonishing 62 miles.

“For years I’ve pursued my passion for swimming,” says Bill, “and I’ll go on as long as I can stand at the side of the pool and jump in!”

Bill puts his stamina and improvement down to turmeric. “My pals call me the ‘Turmeric Kid’ because they know I believe it’s the thing that’s kept me going on so long.

“A few years ago I started to become very concerned, because I was beginning to get aches and pains and found keeping up my performance becoming more and more difficult.

“After doing some extensive research, I came across several scientific papers claiming that turmeric could ease stiff and painful joints.”

His research led him to discover our supplement, TURMERIC+, which combines curcumin with soy lecithin to create a super absorbable supplement.

“Over the past three years I have been taking two tablets a day, one in the morning and one at tea time.

“I truly believe it has been responsible for me not only continue the hobby I love so much but I have also improved more that I could ever have imagined.”

The facts are proof themselves. Bill’s performances in the pool have keep on improving and, in the past twelve months, Bill has added 34 Gold Medals and 5 British records to his tally of 38 National swimming titles.

As well as swimming on average of seven miles per week and regularly attending yoga classes to keep flexible, Bill also finds time to walk ten miles once a week.

And this time, he completed the 5,000 metre Swimathon in just an hour and 42 minutes, his best performance for a long time.

Not surprising then that his three children, twelve grandchildren and five great grandchildren call him super granddad!
