Anne's Story: See how TURMERIC+ helped Anne pursue her passions

Anne Evans Banner

When your passions in life revolve around being active, looking after yourself becomes vitally important, especially as we get older. This is how dressage and fitness enthusiast Anne Evans came to discover the power of turmeric. Anne, aged 57 from Cirencester, has been riding horses for 20 years as well as having a keen interest in gardening. Despite Anne leading an active lifestyle, she began to find her joints were not quite what they used to be.

Anne, along with her husband, began to search the joint health ranges at various supplement companies. It was this research that led her to turmeric.

Anne Pic “I consider myself to be fit and active, however age does eventually creep up on you and you notice these little niggles occur on a more frequent basis.” said Anne. “Those little niggles can have an impact on the amount of fun you have, I was determined that was not going to happen to me.”

It was just over a year ago that Anne’s search for a solution got underway and that led her to Turmeric+, a supplement developed by Cambridge based brand FutureYou.

Anne commented, “After much research with the help of my husband, a bio chemist who has a very good understanding of how the body functions, I decided that the curry spice turmeric was something I should try.”

“There are numerous published studies that demonstrate its benefits, the next challenge I faced was deciding on the best way to incorporate it into my diet.”

Whilst millions of us love adding turmeric to our meals throughout the week, research shows that you need to consume it daily to really reap the benefits. The other obstacle need to be overcome is ensuring we absorb enough of what we eat into our bodies.

The component of turmeric that is known to be beneficial is curcumin, however this only accounts for 3% of standard turmeric powder.

What convinced Anne to trial Turmeric+, was the fact that it only contains the curcumin from turmeric, and that is supported by more clinical studies than any other turmeric supplement.

Anne noted:, “It was the study at the Olympic Research Centre in Barcelona that really caught my eye. Knowing it was used by international footballers and elite athletes made me think it must be able to do something for me.”

The curcumin in Turmeric+ is combined with soy lecithin, it is this patented combination that allows the curcumin to be absorbed by the body. Studies have shown that the formulation is 30 times more absorbable than standard turmeric.

It is now almost a year since Anne started taking Turmeric+ and it is proving to be a real winner. Anne is horse riding, attending the gym, taking part in Pilates and much more on a weekly basis, on top of that she is keeping up with day to day activities much more than she used to.

Anne said, “I love the product and have told many of my friends about it. When you discover something this good, you need to share the benefits. This fits my mantra of being fit for your life.”

This is a wonderful testimony but it does not say how many of the Turmeric tablets Anne took each day. It would be helpful to know whether she took two per day or one.

      Hi Jean

Glad you liked Anne's testimony, she is taking two TURMERIC+ tablets a day.

If you're new to TURMERIC+ we recommend that you start with one and after a few weeks you can switch to two and see how you get on if you want to.

It is heartening and encouraging to hear how it has helped you. I have been taking it for only 4 months and have felt the benefits already. I suffer from arthritis and do a lot of physical work ,like gardening and DIY. I did find the tablets rather big to swallow at first .but I have found a technique. I hope that after a year I will able to really feel more mobile. I just retired and dont want to be an invalid before my time.

I have found it very helpful too Anne. I tried not taking it for a month and had to start up again as my joints were beginning to get painful after a couple of weeks. It is a great supplement and I recommend it to my friends.
    Best wishes Mark Holman.

I an add to Anne's story although my reason for taking the special form produced by Future You is perhaps unusual. I have hemochromatosis which is when the body stores too much iron. It is genetic and many people of Celtic blood have it.
Turmeric is an absorbent of iron and so assists in the usual treatment of regular venesections ( taking blood) ,
I believe that this supplement has helped considerably getting my iron levels well down to approaching normal

      Hi Barry

We like to hear success stories too. Anne is taking two tablets a day, we always recommend you start with one as anything newly introduced into your diet should be gently done but as you've been taking it for a while why not trying taking two a day and let us know how you get on.

      That's brilliant news James!

It's a shame she doesn't have an excuse not to iron and carry the shopping now.

I am 81 and at Easter double fractured my right ankle resulting in more weight being put on my left side. I started waking up in the night with pain in my left leg and knee. I read about Turmeric+ and took advantage of the double offer, at the beginning of October. I have only been taking 1 tablet a day and think I am just beginning to feel the benefits, it has been very gradual. Took my grandsons dog (or rather he took me!) for a short walk today, the first time for ages. Here's hoping!

      Hello Les

Glad to hear you agree with Anne and enjoy TURMERIC+.

We've taken a brief look at Youtheory's Turmeric product, from the limited information we can see they appear to use bioperine as a bioavailability booster. We use the soy lecithin formulation to boost absorption because there are 28 clinical studies published on it and we feel confident in the data.

I don’t see any evidence of your product being combined with black pepper? According to many articles I’ve read this appears to be recommended for bioavailability? What are your thoughts on this? Thank you

      Hi Lynette

That's a great question. The active ingredient in Turmeric+ is called Curcuma Phospholipid Complex, which is a combination of curcumin (the active ingredient from turmeric) and the natural fat soy lecithin (an extract from soy beans).

Black pepper is a great bioavailability booster and has a similar mode of action to our soy lecithin complex; in order to be easily absorbed the black pepper (piperine) must also be combined with an oil or fat.

The reason we chose our formulation is because of the 28 clinical studies published on it and the reliable data that it is 30x more absorbable than standard turmeric.

I hope that answers your question, if you want any more information you can get in touch via hello@camnutra.com or call our Customer Service team on 0800 808 5740.

    Dear Futureyou team,

I keep reading the 28 clinical studies in your site but haven't found any reference to any of these studies. Can you please share/publish the studies on your site.
If we google to Turmeric+ the results shows this website and another 1-2 blogs entries but not finding clinical studies mentioning your product.
Also would be interested your thoughts on how Turmeric+ product is different from Meriva produced by Indena S.p.A?
    Thank you

      Hello P Zsolt

Thank you for your comment. Unfortunately we are unable to publish the 29 clinical studies on our website. This is for two reasons - firstly, they can make claims that we, as a food supplement, are not allowed to. Secondly, we are prevented from sharing some of them due to copyright law.

You can find the majority of them (either a synopsis or the full study) on the website PubMed, by searching Meriva.

In answer to your question about Meriva, it is the active ingredient in our TURMERIC+. We believe it is the best turmeric formulation available. No other formulation has been subject to so many studies, and we have exclusive supply in the UK.

I hope this has helped to answer your questions, but if there's anything else, don't hesitate to ask!

I started to take your Turmeric as a bit of a last resort! I had sepsis which almost killed me and it turned out I had Crohn's proctitis with fistula disease. I ended up on steroids and then moved to Azathioprine. The side effects left me in considerable pain. Muscles and joints and sensitive skin! By the end of the day I could barely move such was the overall effect and would have to be helped to get up from a chair. I took two tablets, one at breakfast and one at supper. Within two days I noticed the difference in reduction of pain and by the end of the week I was taking just one tablet a day. It literally gave me a new lease of life! I have since been moved off Azathioprine on to a similar medication but with less side effects. I still take a tablet a day. I did try the Joint Advanced but didn't notice any real difference, so have gone back to the ordinary dose. I have added Krill oil and Vitamin D and have to say I feel much better and stronger and can take my poor dog for decent walks now (a mile or so rather than a few hundred yards and throw a ball for her!) Can't recommend the Turmeric enough!

    Hi,
I've just placed an order for Turmeric+. While I wait for delivery I'm wondering - I currently take Ibuprofen and Omeprazole. These are quite effective but I'm looking for an alternative for the longer term. So, if Turmeric+ may take a few weeks or more before I start to notice the positive effect, can I continue to take the Ibuprofen/Omaprazole (either normal or reduced daily dose) while I transfer onto Turmeric+)?
    Thanks,
    Anthony

That is something that we would definitely recommend checking with your GP or pharmacist as they are medical professionals and would be best placed to advise you on this.

So sorry we can't be more help today but please do keep in touch and let us know how you get on with the TURMERIC+!
