We know that our KRILL OIL contains the most omega 3 of any supplement available to buy in the world. On paper that is undeniable. But what about the things our customers really want to know; how much of it is actually absorbed into the body? How quickly does it work? And what results could we expect to see in eight weeks.
Armed with some harsh critics (the FutureYou team), some blood test kits and an eight week supply of FutureYou KRILL OIL, we put our product to the test.
The aim of the test was to see what increases in omega 3 could be seen in the blood test results after an eight week period. Each participant would take a blood sample on day one which would be sent to a lab for analysis, documenting the level of omega 3 in each of the participants' blood. Then, after taking an eight week course of KRILL OIL, the blood tests would be repeated and analysed to see if there was any detectable increase in omega 3.
The Guinea Pigs
We assembled a trusty squad of FutureYou employees to conduct the trial. None of the participants where already taking any omega 3 supplements. Here's what how they described their diets and what they scored in their first omega 3 tests.
The results where quite a suprise to most of the team.
Chris said "Oh wow. I'm shocked. I do all of the right things and eat a really healthy varied diet. I know that most people struggle to get enough omega 3 in their diet but I wouldn't have ever put myself in that category - I thought I'd have had a much higher score. The optimal range for omega 3 in the blood is upwards of 8% and I am a long way off."
Louisa said "Being pescatarian is obviously paying off because I had some of the highest results on the team but it's still a suprise to learn that I am a good way off of the optimal amount. I can't wait to see the results at the end of eight weeks now".
So, how did they fair? Well every single person on the trial saw an improvement in their omega 3 levels. In fact, there was a mean average improvement in omega 3 within the team of 33.2%.
Our small study proved a couple of things.
Firstly, just how difficult it is to get enough omega 3 into your diet. For the very health conscious foodies taking the test, the results showing an insufficient amount of omega 3 in the blood were a bit of a shock. It just goes to show, even if you are doing all the right things, sometimes we all need a little boost. Our study also showed that taking a high quality supplement is an excellent way to give your omega 3 levels a boost. It is, as with all supplements, important that supplementation is sustained to ensure the continued benefits of the product. Supplements should be incorporated on top of a nutritious diet and healthy lifestyle.
If you'd like more information about omega 3, the NHS Choice website lists the importance and benefits of omega 3 on it's website and weighs up the scientific support behind claims that omega 3 has a positive contribution towards Cardiovascular Disease, Vision, Rheumatoid Arthritis and other diseases.
As for the FutureYou team who took the trial in the office, most are choosing to continue on the trial for another two months to see if they can get their Omega 3 levels into the optimal range.
