What’s the difference between lycopene and LactoLycopene?

The tomatoes we eat are packed with heart-healthy lycopene. Our "Tomato Pill" on the other hand, harnesses the power of our unique LactoLycopene formula to benefit your heart health. But, what's the real difference between these two?

Lycopene is a very powerful antioxidant that’s found naturally in tomatoes. Did you know that it’s this lycopene ingredient that gives tomatoes their bright, red colour?

Thanks to its many health benefits, from its antioxidant to its anti-inflammatory properties, lycopene has been widely studied by scientists for many years and is of great interest to the health community.

However, although lycopene is great for your health (particularly your heart’s health) it’s actually extremely difficult for our bodies to absorb. This is due to its large, crystalline molecular structure.

The only way to really aid your body’s absorption of tomatoes’ lycopene is by first cooking the tomatoes in olive oil before eating them. Even still you’d need to consume an average of 2.2 lbs (1kg) of cooked tomatoes per day to really obtain the required health benefits – which, let’s face it, isn’t always the most practical of things to do!

This is where Ateronon Heart’s handy, patented LactoLycopene formula comes into play!

What is LactoLycopene?

LactoLycopene is the name given to our Tomato Pill’s unique, patented lycopene formulation. This lycopene-whey complex contains a special blend of lycopene and whey protein – along with thiamine (known to contribute to healthy heart function) and selenium (a recognised antioxidant).

This formulation helps to reduce the lycopene molecules’ crystal size, making it easier for our bodies to absorb all the lycopene goodness.

What’s more, there is the equivalent of 2.2lbs (1kg) of tomato-based lycopene in each capsule of Ateronon Heart – to be taken daily. This means that Ateronon Heart provides a natural, safe and convenient way for you to obtain the optimal health benefits of lycopene to help protect your heart, naturally.

In fact, a study at Cambridge University showed that LactoLycopene was absorbed easily enough into the body’s bloodstream, so that its health benefits could be reliably delivered.

A further recent study at Harvard University, found that Ateronon Heart increased average blood levels of lycopene at both 6 and 12 months follow-ups by 20% - showing the bioavailability (easily-absorbable) nature of our Tomato Pill and its patented LactoLycopene formula.

Ateronon Heart and your heart health

Ateronon Heart capsules, with its unique LactoLycopene formula, is a daily dose of health insurance for your heart health. Taking our Tomato Pill daily has been shown to increase arterial flexibility by up to 53%. This counteracts the stiffening of the arteries caused by heart disease.

Lycopene has also been linked with the prevention of stroke, heart disease and prostate cancer as well as increased skin protection.
